DEPARTMENT OF

Basic Sciences

The  Basic Science subjects are pivotal for engineering education. These subjects taught in the first year help in better understanding and application of their respective streams. The department was started from the inception of the college. Its objective is to provide value-based education to the budding engineers. The department has well qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty, who are a blend of knowledge and experience.

The strong basic foundation laid by the department helps the students to apply knowledge in a better way  &  become a successful engineer .The department comprises of three sub-departments namely Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. All these three sub-departments exist as separate divisions and maintain individual identity. The unique strength of the department is the excellent coordination in carrying out the academic responsibilities.

The department has contributed in overall  progress of the Institution.Presently the department faculty count is 21 , of which 5 are doctorates, 3 Professors, 1- Associate professors and 17-Assistant professors. The department encourages the faculty  to participate in  workshops, conferences and seminars to understand and be aware of the latest updates in their fields. Also, the department motivates the faculty to publish papers in reputed journals, submit project proposal to funding agencies& to enroll for PhD program. Our faculty’s research expertise includes all frontier areas in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Majority of the faculty members are actively involved in Research and Development activities
