V.S.T.Tillers Tractors Ltd. was promoted in the year 1967 by the VST group of companies, a well known century old business house in South India. The company has a network of about 200 dealers and 300 vendors all over India most of whom have been associated with the company over several decades.While the company continues to be the leader in the Power tiller industry with about 45% market share, its pioneering efforts for introduction of compact tractors have been recognized all over India under the brand name of VST Mitsubishi Shakti.

The industrial visit to V.S.T Tillers Tractors Ltd was a great opportunity provided to the students who had attended the ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT CAMP conducted by ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE OF INDIA the organised by Department of Mechanical Engineering of Cambridge Institute of technology. The industrial visit was a part of the Entrepreneurship development camp, the students were taken to the industry to give an outlook and to motivate the students to achieve the entrepreneurship quality in them. The students had even undergone motivational speech by higher authorities of the industry to encourage the students in becoming an Entrepreneur.

The industrial visit was not only based on Entrepreneurship it was also a great opportunity provided to the students to explore all the technical and manufacturing processes. It had provided them a great opportunity to understand the manufacturing process like machining, assembling, quality inspection etc. Hence the industrial visit was very helpful for the students to gain technical knowledge. The students were also addressed by the Chief technical trainer of the industry, so that the students were explored to all the mechanism and the technologies of the working of the tillers.

Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a one day industrial visit for 5th Sem students to Gandhi Krishi Vignana Kendra (GKVK), Bangalore on 22-10-2016.

Students acquired practical insight about Biofuel, Agri based machineries, Sewage water plant, Incinerator, Water treatment plant and many more. This industrial visit benefitted the students by giving them first hand information about the functioning of machineries and it certainly added a value to their curriculum.

Department of Mechanical Engineering managed a one day Industrial Visit to “Toyota Kirloskar Pvt. limited”, Bangalore on 9th DEC 2016 for final year students. The objective of this industrial visit was to make students aware of the practical challenges that the organizations face.

Students earned the knowledge of Automobile parts Manufacturing, Advance automated system and Assembly of cars.

Industrial Interaction INDUSTRIAL VISIT 1) Industrial visit to Visvesvaraya Iron & Steel Plant, Bhadravathi

The students of 4th semester had been to VISL, Bhadravathi on 02-05-2015 with faculty members. Students were allowed to visit the plant which manufactures different iron products. They were allowed to see the Furnace, Boiler, and Economizer with different type of heat treatment process, materials & Automation System. They gained the practical knowledge about the entire Manufacturing process of iron & Steel.

Industrial visit to Composite Technology Park, Bangalore.

The Students of 6th semester had been to Composite Technology Park, Bangalore on 27-10-2014 with faculty members. Students were allowed to see various composites fabrication machines and composites testing machines. Students gained knowledge about various fabrication techniques of composites and type of tests that can be carried out on composite materials, standard testing procedure of composites also how characterization of polymers, reinforcement fibres and core materials will be made, and importance of natural fibre eco-friendly composites products for industrial and socio-economic applications.

Industrial visit to Volvo Trucks, Hoskote, Bangalore

The Students of 4th and 6th semester had been to Volvo Trucks, Hoskote plant, Bangalore on 22-11-2014 and 23-11-2014 respectively. Students were allowed to see new trucks of Volvo like Volvo FH, Volvo FMX, Volvo FM and Volvo Dump Truck. Also students were allowed to see Manufacturing techniques adopted by Volvo to fabricate various parts of Volvo trucks, Quality and safety measurements adopted by Volvo Trucks. They gained practical knowledge about assembling and other important parts of Trucks, Advanced Manufacturing and Quality measurement Techniques adopted by Volvo Trucks.


1. Students of Mechanical Engineering (VI and IV semester) had undergone internship during vacation time (July 2015). ]

2. The companies include HAL, NAL, BEML, MICROGENESIS and in our R & D Lab.

3. Around 58 eligible students out of 110 in VI semester and 30 students out of 152 in IV semester have undergone Internship at various companies.

4. All those students who took part in internship programme were given completion certificate by the respective companies.
